The Fowler Family Gets Dressed
HOW ORDINARY PEOPLE LIVED ON THE OHIO FRONTIER
 
A narrated demonstration modeling reproduction clothing of the 1790's, worn by early settlers, slaves, indentured servants, etc.
 
In their demonstrations and their book, Inman and Pence weave informative and interesting tidbits, drawn from extensive research, into a fascinating, colorful, cultural history of life in the 1790 Ohio Country.

The Presentation:
Narrated demonstration.
Modeling reproduction clothing similar to that worn in the 1790's by early settlers, indentured servants, slaves, etc.
Opportunities for students to participate by wearing apparel.
Complements elementary and middle school curriculum and Ohio Proficiency Studies.

  • School Visits - $750 per day plus travel expenses (maximum of 4 presentations per day).
  • Adult Single event programs ex. libraries, historical societies, genealogical societies, etc. - $350 for one presentation plus travel expenses.

(travel expenses of  50 cents per mile plus overnight accommodations if necessary)
