Mary K. Inman and Louise F. Pence are retired school librarians and media specialists. They both taught for Worthington City Schools, but first met in library classes at Ohio Dominican College. Later they became reacquainted through their post-graduate coursework at The Ohio State University. During a winter museum trip to London, England, the authors discovered their mutual interest in this project dealing with  eighteenth century frontier life and clothing. Currently, they continue to research and write, as well as to recreate late eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century clothing. They are presently researching several books and enjoy "bringing history to life" through their presentations.

Inman, a native of Columbus, Ohio, still resides in the Columbus area with her husband Jeff.

Pence, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, lives with her husband Dave in the Columbus area..

Norma Lu Meehan was a fashion illustrator who used that experience when she turned to creating historical-costume paper dolls in 1991. She is the author of the Wardrobe series: Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco, and '40s and '50s Fashions, as well as the book for children, Nana's Trunk, all based on the collections of The Northern Indiana Center for History. She is a fifth-generation resident of South Bend, Indiana, and volunteers at the Center for History. Her three children and six grandchildren have been the models for all her paper doll books except for the Fowler Family series.

Texas Tech University Press has published her four most recent books Heroine of the Limberlost: A Paper Doll Biography of Gene Stratton Porter, The Fowler Family Gets Dressed, and Collection By Design I and II.
